[ THE CHALLENGE ]  Reconfigure the living spaces of a boxy 1970’s mid-century modern house, adding outdoor areas that reach out to the landscape.

[ THE RESPONSE ]  The wood paneled kitchen floats within the open plan, its hovering ceiling reaching out to the spaces around it. Steel and wood framed decks extend interiors outward, defined by a stone wall that screens a lower level pool.
